London, on the River Thames, covers approximately 600 sq. miles and has a population of just under 8 million. You would need several weeks to see London - indeed in my opinion, you would need several weeks just to see the fine museums. When tourists go to London for just a few days, they see all the classic tourist attractions, a few plays and take short excursions out of London to not-to-be-missed Windsor or Hampton Court and Kew.

If you have never been to London before, then this conventional approach is right (see London Extension), and ideally you need a well-informed, friendly native to steer you to some worthwhile and unusual sites. Perhaps you want unique, specialist shops; or you'd like to sample the cuisine of a different country every night; or just indulge your own interest or hobby, and have some assistance finding what you seek. Perhaps you would like to see London on foot with a mini-walking-tour each day in a different part of the city, or you might enjoy a whole week of theatre-going.

LONDON EXTENSION With each walking tour an accompanied three day London visit is offered as a bonus at a very nominal price. We take a sightseeing tour by double-decker bus to see the architecture and the historic monuments. We enjoy a musical at one of London's fine West-End theatres, sample the food at two of London's best restaurants, visit a cathedral, a palace, some museums and some of London's best known shops. All are included in the price.

LONDON AND THE PROVINCES / CIRCULAR

This trip is based in London, and there will be time for sightseeing, shopping, and of course, walking. I shall offer some walks in London, and in Dover, Canterbury, Windsor, and in Jane Austen's countryside around Winchester - naturally at times that do not interfere with box office hours. Included in the price are 12 nights in and around London, breakfast and dinner each day, 5 theatre tickets, all transportation and admission fees.
